Forever Young (Japanese: フォーエバーヤング, foaled February 24, 2021) is a Japanese thoroughbred racehorse owned by Susumu Fujita and trained by Yoshito Yahagi. He made history in the 2025 Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar by becoming the first Japanese-born and trained horse to win this prestigious race. Ridden by jockey Ryusei Sakai, Forever Young powered through the stretch to defeat defending champion Sierra Leone by half a length, covering the 1 1/4 miles in 2:00.19 and earning a prize of $3,640,000, boosting his career earnings to over $19 million. The victory was especially poignant as Forever Young finished third behind Sierra Leone in the previous year's Classic, but his resilience and maturity were evident as he turned the tables in 2025, cementing his legacy on the international stage.
