Seattle Slew was an exceptional American Thoroughbred racehorse who achieved legendary status in the sport. Foaled in 1974, he was bred by Ben S. Castleman and purchased for the modest sum of $17,500 as a yearling by Karen and Mickey Taylor, in partnership with Jim and Sally Hill. He was trained by William H. Turner Jr., and later by Douglas Peterson.
